The festival
Organized by Asian CineVision, AAIFF was first held in 1978 and is the first and longest-running festival in the United States dedicated to Asian and Asian American cinema. Its inaugural edition was a three-day program of 46 films and videos on New York’s Lower East Side.
Worth knowing
AAIFF predates and helped inspire the founding of other Asian American festivals, including the San Francisco festival that became CAAMFest.
How to attend
The festival is open to the public, with tickets and passes available through the official AAIFF website during its summer run.
