The festival
The New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) is presented by the Indo-American Arts Council and is described as the oldest Indian film festival in North America. It showcases features, documentaries and short films from the Indian subcontinent and its global diaspora, and was founded in 2001.
Worth knowing
The 2025 edition marked the festival's 25th anniversary. In recent years the festival has been held in June, with screenings at Manhattan's Village East by Angelika.
